lady-red-jacketSuccess in work and life is determined in large part to successful communication. The conversation is the relationship is the way Susan Scott talks about the importance of communication in her book Fierce Conversations. She goes on to say, a career, a company, a personal relationship succeeds (or fails) gradually, then suddenly, one conversation at a time. She is not alone when she emphasizes the importance of communication most successful leaders would agree.

Effective leadership requires effective communication. Powerful communication is critical to earn the credibility and respect required to land top jobs and big contracts.  Articulate speakers have a presence and convey an image that radiates confidence and success.

So often individuals avoid or dread speaking to groups or even one to one. This is a sure- fire way to limit your career advancement and business success. Others sidestep direct and assertive communication for fear of being labeled ‘pushy.’ This unclear and indirect communication often results in their not  being heard accurately or in others misunderstanding, misinterpreting, or ignoring what they say.

Speaking to groups, leading meetings, and one on one conversations with colleagues are excellent ways to showcase your abilities. Failed conversations can leave you feeling frustrated, resentful, like a victim, or even taken advantage of, angry and even derail your career by damaging your professional image.   What does it take to make your conversations succeed?

Effective communication begins on the inside with your thoughts, attitudes, and self-talk. Books, seminars, and speaking organizations like Toastmasters® can be useful to help you enhance your speaking techniques – grammar, syntax, word usage, and gestures.  But top speakers / communicators have something more than good speaking techniques.  They radiate a confidence that comes from the inside.

If you have gone to seminars, joined speaker organizations, or read every “how to” book and article, and still have not achieved great success you aspire to, explore what working with a coach can do for you.

Contact me to request your complimentary ‘help me be a better speaker’ conversation.  It will make a difference in your career success, business results, and relationship outcomes.

As someone who is both a coach and a respected speaker I would like the opportunity to help you enhance your public speaking and individual communication skills from the inside – out!

  • Develop the powerful, articulate, and effective communication skills that many executives consider one of the most critical skills in their toolbox and can land you a top job.
  • Harness the power of assertive communication without being labeled as pushy or aggressive instead allow you to project the image of a leader.
  • Remove communication blind spots and speak more effectively in all situations – one to one, in meetings presentations eliminating any appearance nervousness or lack of confidence
