Leadership for Women of the 21st Century:

Executive and Leadership Development Coaching is for women at various stages of their climb up the corporate ladder. Executive and leadership coaching is about leveraging your strengths, recognizing and changing ineffective behaviors, and developing new skills.  It is not about improving deficiencies.

Leadership development can not be learned in a seminar or by reading a book. It is a process best perfected in an ongoing relationship in partnership with a leadership coach with executive expertise who can provide you focus, clarity, partner to brainstorm strategies, explore possibilities, and offer feedback

woman-phoneEmerging Leaders and Managers: If you are an emerging leader or manager you may be looking to develop the executive presence that makes you stand out in your current position and move up to the next level.

Coaching develops your ability to lead high performing teams by gaining their credibility and respect, astutely market your self in a discriminating way to earn recognition for your contributions, and to navigate the business environment in a savvy versus naive way. Coaching can support you in the transition stage from a technical role to manager and help you to learn how to view the business from a new perspective.

Seasoned Leaders and Executives: Once you reach the higher levels of an organization it becomes more challenging to find trusted advisors to help you problem solve, serve as a role model, or recognize blind spots that may have the potential to derail your success. These are not tools you acquire in a seminar or learn from a book.

I use a variety of tools and assessments, combined with in depth coaching interpretations, to provide you greater insight, awareness and understanding of your strengths, motivations, and professional relationship skills.  Each client coaching development plan is customized to meet her individual situation and goals.

Lifestyle Coaching: Your life and your work are integrated into the whole you.  Personal and family demands do not disappear when you enter the work parking lot. Managing stress and juggling work life demands to avoid unreasonable sacrifices of your personal life are results you can achieve from partnering with a coach.

How Coaching Works

Coaching is not for everyone.  Coaching is not for someone looking for a magic bullet.  Coaching is a process that takes time.  Coaching is not for someone looking for the coach to give them the solution.  The answer comes from  inside.

Coaching is for those who are serious and committed to change, grow, and gain profound new awareness that can make a difference in every aspect of their life. Coaching is for you if you find a certain aspect of your personal or professional life just is not working the way you want.  If certain behaviors no longer get you the results you desire then consider coaching.

If you are ready to stretch, to grow, to take a few reasonable risks, and to try on new behaviors then coaching is for you.

lady-black-jacketIf you are considering hiring a coach:

Step 1: Determine the area of your work life or personal life want to change or a goal you want to achieve

Step 2: Once you have identified your reason, select a coach to support you step by step as you identify your vision, goals, make changes, and grow.

Contact Jean@JeanCaton.net for a complimentary telephone consult to learn the answer to the question…  Is coaching right for me? Is Jean the right coach for me?

Step 3: Interview two or three qualified coaches to determine which one is the best fit for you.  Select a coach who you think will make the best partner for you.

Once you select your coach, you will begin by completing your welcome kit and identifying your short, medium, and longer term goals for your coaching.  You and your coach will develop your individual development plan. Then each week all you have to do is pick up the telephone from your office or home for your convenient and confidential conversation with your coach.

You will set up a schedule of 2-3 calls per month of 30 or 45 minute duration. You will speak with your coach and experience the power of coaching to support your goals for change in your work or life. You and your coach, in partnership, will co-create strategies for the career, business, and life of your dreams.

Contact Jean to set up your complimentary telephone coaching conversation.

Selecting a Coach

A qualified coach has a unique set of skills. To achieve results, it is important to select a competent coach. Is the coach professionally trained? How much experience does she/he have?  What kind of clients does she/he frequently work with?

Before hiring a coach, interview two or three coaches and ask:

  1. Amount and type of their coach training.
  2. Length of time they have been coaching professionally
  3. Types of clients with whom they work
  4. Areas of specialization
  5. Coaching style

These questions help you select a coach who is both qualified and a good fit for you. Coaches whose background, values, and life experiences are similar to yours may be the coach who you relate best with because they “get” the issues you are facing.

Many coaches offer complimentary introductory telephone consultation to help you determine if coaching is right for you and if she/he is a good match for you.
